The award is presented to a lawyer for excellence, 成就, and commitment to providing legal services to the District of Columbia’s low-income and/or disadvantaged individuals and/or organizations serving such individuals.
- 劳拉·N的提名者. Rinaldi 公益性服务 Lawyer of the Year should have, 在2023日历年, conducted one or more of the following activities:
- Provided legal assistance to persons of limited means through the D.C. 酒吧 公益性服务 Center and/or another D.C. nonprofit legal services provider;
- Provided legal assistance to individuals, 组, or nonprofit organizations in the District of Columbia seeking to secure or protect civil rights, 公民自由, or public rights that helped low-income and/or disadvantaged individuals in the District;
- Provided legal assistance and/or training to District-based community nonprofits and/or small disadvantaged businesses that serve the District’s low-income communities; or
- Advanced public policy and/or court reform that favorably affected low-income and/or disadvantaged individuals in the District.
- Nominees must be members of the D.C. 酒吧.
- Individual attorneys who obtain most of their income from delivering or coordinating the delivery of pro bono legal services are not eligible for this award.
- The 酒吧 reserves the right not to give an award in any given year.
